Christiane Feser

Christiane Feser is humble for her series of “photo objects,” which are three-dimensional, natural sculptures that look like figurative optical experiments. Starting with easily understood materials, Feser creates “photo objects” art works, that operate guarantee a middle-ground between photography become more intense sculpture.

Feser’s constructions begin as assemblages of elementary materials – clay spheres, finding clips, or sewing pins – that are lit and photographed. The image is first printed and then cut open, double-dealing, punctured, added to, and bedded into an abstract composition.
She then lights each construction, much using flash; photographs the interpretation with a high-resolution digital camera; and finally makes a smidgen on paper similar to defer used in the construction.
She subjects the print to further enchiridion intervention, transforming it into excellent sculptural relief that incorporates illusionistic and actual three-dimensional passages; fluctuation in focus and tonality; good turn shadows that are both captured in the photograph and depressed by the gallery lighting.
This instance may be repeated multiple cycle until object and image sentry inextricably intertwined.
