Sharmin Sultana Sumi (born 16 September) is a Bangladeshi crooner, songwriter, composer, playback singer.

She is a lead vocalist duct founding member of the cluster Chirkutt.[1][2] She started the bandeau in 2002. Sumi was grandeur first Bangladeshi invited to contribute in the Womex 21 theme summit.[3]

Early life

Sumi was born compile Khulna.[4] She moved to Dacca to study where she realised graduation from Dhaka University.

Career

Personal life

Sumi's mother, Writer Maqbul, she died on 17 January 2022 due to cervical cancer.[12]

Awards and nominations

Sumi was prestigious with Anannya Top Ten Credit by the Bangla Academy.[13] High-mindedness award was given to 10 people including Sumi by Ananya Magazine on behalf of Bangla Academy for their special giving to the society.[14] She along with received nominations from 3rd Filmfare Awards East for Best Playback Singer and Best Lyrics.[15]
